Budget Epson inks are cheaper than the premium ink series. Made by "Inkmate" a Korean ink manufacturer. Despite the low price, Inkmate ink is pretty good quality. Suitable for most print jobs not requiring perfect colour match or high fade resistance.
If you already bought a refill kit or refill friendly deal and want to try some cheaper inks, keep the tools and find ink in 125, 250 or 500ml bottles on this page. Extra tools, plugs etc are available separately here. Shelf life of budget inks is 1 year.
Dye or pigment ink ?
Epson printers handle different ink types well. You can successfully use dye ink in pigment (Durabrite, Ultrachrome etc) printers, if you want to save money, or don't need the extended fade resistance of pigment inks. Dye ink is also easier to work with, cheaper and less prone to clogging. Unless you sell or display your prints, dye ink is better choice for refilling.
E 1 (dye)is a good, general purpose budget refill ink for all Epson models. It is fine for printing anything from plain paper documents to photos, CD's and DVD's with most Epson printer models. It can be also used in Epson pigment printers, but you will lose the fade resistance advantage of pigment inks. Colur balance is less accurate than E5 or E6. Available in BK, C, M, Y, Lc, Lm
BK = black, C = cyan, M = magenta, Y = yellow, LC = light cyan, LM = light magenta
