Each refill kit contains ink for many refills, any tools needed and refill instructions in English. The included ink is not made by Lexmark, but is formulated to match the print quality of original Lexmark cartridges. Quality, US made ink for trouble free printing. NOT universal or Chinese ink. If you have a refill kit already, the ink is also available separately in bulk.
Most Lexmark ink cartridges can be refilled, but it is important to refill as soon as or before the cartridge is empty for best results. Colour ink cartridges should be refilled as soon as one colour stops printing. Leaking can be a problem due to over filling - easy to rectify by removing the excess ink.
Not all Lexmark ink cartridges can be refilled..!
More and more Lexmark printers come equipped with "RETURN PROGRAM" cartridges. These "self destruct" once the included amount of ink is used and can not be refilled. The "return program" Lexmark cartridges include: #14, 15, 23, 24, 28, 29, 36, 37, 41, 42, 100 etc. None of these are refillable!
There are optional Lexmark "non return" cartridges available for some models - but not all. These are usually marked as "A" in the Lexmark cartridge part number (eg: #14 is not refillable - #14A is).
